Owner Objective

Illinois Department of Transportation requested CEC to complete Surveying Services for Land Acquisition along IL Route 53 (Independence Boulevard) starting at Alexander Circle on the south and extending to Ridgewood Avenue on the north. For this project, there are sixteen (16) parent parcels with twelve (12) fee acquisition parcels and sixteen (16) temporary easement parcels to be acquired by the Bureau of Land Acquisition (the “Department”) under Job Number R-91-015-21. The Department furnished CEC with the existing right-of-way documents, title commitments, title exception documents, proposed parcel configurations, applicable Department policies and procedures for the work and direction of the services provided by CEC and its Subconsultants.

CEC Approach

CEC completed all survey field work for this project, prepare the legal descriptions, title commitment review, certification of the plats, and QA/QC. American Surveying & Engineering, P.C. (ASE) performed the boundary analysis, parcel computations, and completed the plat of highways based on the information furnished to ASE. All professional services were performed to appropriate Minimum Standards of practice and Section 1270.56, Minimum Standards of Practice for surveys in Illinois, and in accordance with IDOT District 1 Land Acquisition Plat of Highways template and the procedures for setting up the required IDOT CADD environment.
