CEC Pittsburgh is excited to welcome the latest addition to our team, Karl Kratzer, who joins as a Principal in the Ecological Sciences practice.
Karl brings 40 years of knowledge and experience to the team. He has extensive experience in project management, coordination, and environmental impact analysis for linear projects, including natural gas projects, transportation planning, and major capital improvement facilities. Through his decades of consulting and industry experience, Karl has developed deep expertise regarding the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation and the Clean Water Act.
In his previous role as Senior Environmental Specialist, Karl led environmental permitting efforts for natural gas operations and maintenance projects across multiple states along the eastern seaboard. His work includes the application development and submittal of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permits, State Programmatic General Permits, associated State erosion and sediment control permits, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Information Planning and Consultation. Karl has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Mary Washington.
