CEC St. Louis is pleased to welcome Austin DeSain, P.L.S., as a Principal in our Survey/Geospatial practice.
Austin is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Missouri with more than 25 years of experience in survey operations, construction management, and technology implementation. His background includes leading survey teams and managing a wide range of civil and land development projects, including many keystone projects for the Midwest and St. Louis regions. His surveying experience covers power plants, airports, convention centers, aerospace and airplane facilities, river flood and levee systems, rail terminals and connections, highway and roadway projects, bridge construction projects, small and large-scale retail developments, business parks and industrial developments.
He has extensive experience with ALTA/NSPS boundary surveys, machine-control modeling and staking, topographic mapping, and has overseen survey deliverables for infrastructure improvements, school facilities, and ADA compliance projects. Austin has also led efforts in digitizing and indexing thousands of historical survey records to improve data accessibility and security. He has been able to streamline survey processes and improve the workflows from start to delivery for clients throughout his career. With critical communication in the forefront, he works directly with clients to meet project goals.
In addition to his technical expertise, Austin has implemented automation tools using Python, Power Automate, and AI platforms to streamline workflows and enhance data accuracy. He also brings experience in safety oversight, municipal coordination, and business consulting.
