Dr. Islam has more than 20 years of experience in the field of civil, geotechnical, and geoenvironmental engineering. His practice focuses on design, permitting, operations and maintenance, and construction of waste containment facilities for municipal solid waste (MSW), hazardous waste, industrial waste, coal combustion residuals (CCR), and low-level radioactive waste. His technical specialties include: static and seismic slope stability evaluations, settlement analyses, seepage analyses, geosynthetics design and installation, earthwork monitoring and testing, geotechnical investigations, landfill gas collection and control system design, and construction support (construction drawings, specifications, construction quality assurance (CQA) plan, bid support, construction management support, and QA/QC support).
